So wow, Diablo brings me back a few years :P This was the game that really started me transitioning from pen and paper role-playing to computer role-playing. I remember the first time I sat down to it. The day had been really great so far. I was hanging with a freind I had not seen for a couple of years, and we were walking around the streets of Bangor (that's in Maine), when he turned to me and said "and this is Stephen Kings house." I was pretty awestruck. We didn't acctually talk to the guy or anything but he was, and is still, my favorite author.
Well we then swung by another friends house. I remember the house had that nice old house smell. We went down into the basement, 2liters in hand, and I walked into a room that reminded me of my stepdads hobbie room. computers everywhere, parts, books. The only thing missing was the oscilloscope, and I still don't know why my dad has one of those. Anyway I digress.
His friend was sitting at his computer hacking away at a horde of skeletons. "Whoa, What's that?" I asked. this new guy just meeting me spoke at me as if he had known me for years, he told me all about the game then offered me his seat. He ran me through the basics, (point click die) I took a swig off of my Mt. Dew and away I went to the land of demon slaying. I sat there untill we left. Shortly after I built my first computer, bought Diablo and played my weasly little guts out. :P Hope you enjoyed my story.
